Our instructor courses are designed around the experience and practicality of passing the Cardington Examinations, both CBT and DAS, to become a fully qualified motorcycle instructor. The course structure means that you can:

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

INSTRUCTOR COURSE CONTENT

You are tested on two skills at Cardington:

1.       Your Training skills = How you train students

2.        Your Supervision skills = How you train Instructors

David (pictured left in the reflective jacket) was told by the Cardington examiner that his supervision (i.e. his instructor training) was "Superb and professional, possibly the best he had ever seen".

The course structure is as follows:

Three days training; Saturday, Sunday, Monday where you will learn all of the elements needed to complete the CBT test at Cardington.

Saturday: On arrival you will be given all of the necessary books and paperwork that you will need, followed by instruction and practice of delivering elements A, B and D (these elements are all talks).

Sunday: Instruction and practice in delivering and demonstrating element C, where you will teach and demonstrate the exercises on a cg125. (on site riding).

Monday: Instruction and practice in delivering the most important element, element E (on road riding) where you will be instructed in the use of of guiding, training and improving a students riding skills by instruction over the radio.

The cost for this phase of the course is £350, which includes all of the detailed notes and information that you will require to deliver a successful CBT, both at Cardington and in training schools.

The second and subsequent phases of the course are delivered on Saturdays and/or Sundays at your discretion where you will practice your skills on ‘real’ students which will fully test your abilities and learning. You will be supervised at all times by a qualified instructor, but the instructor will only ‘step in’ when necessary, leaving you to deal with all of the problems and pit falls that training a student can bring, whilst also receiving all of the elation and thanks that can be obtained from a student after you have successfully taught them to ride a motorbike or scooter. The cost for each individual days attendance is £50.

Example costs (for 5 days training):

Phase one (3 days) = £350     -    Second and subsequent phases of two extra training days (2 x £50) = £100

TOTAL COST for five days training - £350 + £100 = £450

Example costs (for 10 days training):

Phase one (3 days) = £350   -    Second and subsequent phases of seven extra training days (7 x £50) = £350

 TOTAL COST for ten days training - £350 + £350 = £700

As you can see the cost and the length of training depends entirely upon yourself, you can train for as many or as least amount of days, the training is on real people in a ‘live’ environment, so that you receive real experience and practical training, giving you the best possible preparation to enable you to pass at Cardington.  This means that you can learn and practice at a pace that suits yourself, at a price that is very cheap in the long term, offering realistic, utterly practical, cost effective training. Not only us, but also 'YOU' will know when you are ready.  If for any reason you decide that being an instructor is not for you, then you have only incurred minimal costs and can, if you decide at a later date to continue, return to training immediately as you will have already received the necessary information and techniques required.

You are also safe in the knowledge that if for any reason you should happen to fail the Cardington examinations we will refund half of the total course cost to you.

To make sure that you are in the best possible position to pass, not only do we train you fully, but we also give you a mock test before you attend Cardington. That way you know exactly what to expect, exactly what to do and say, and exactly how to behave and be successful. Each exercise contained within the five elements is explained fully to you over the initial three days, demonstrated by us and then practiced by you (and videoed), so that you can see yourself improving with every practice, and finally reaching the high standard needed to be successful at Cardington.

We run two different types of structured courses, both of which cover everything lesson and talk that you may be required to give or demonstrate at Cardington, along with the correct instructional techniques and paperwork required to assist you:

The first is a Six day intensive course running from Saturday to Thursday where you will
