What is Direct Access or DAS?
Direct Access or DAS simply means that if you are over 21 years of age you can take your practical motorcycle test on a 'big bike'. By big bike, the Driving Standards Agency mean a motorcycle with a power output of over 47bhp (which equates to an engine size of approximately 400cc and above).
How do I go about achieving this?
If
you have never successfully completed, or attempted CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) course, then you must complete one successfully
before you are allowed to ride any bike or scooter on the road.
You can take your CBT and Direct Access training with us, and once you have completed your theory test we can apply for, and book your practical test at a time that is most convenient for you. We will guide you every step of the way.
DAS courses start with the CBT (unless you have already successfully completed it) followed by 1or more days (dependant on your skill and experience) riding a 500cc motorcycle and preparing, honing and upgrading your riding skills to the required standard for your practical motorcycle test.
Your DAS course is designed around you!
You will save money as you only pay for the length of course that your skills require
Pay only for your riding lessons, not someone else's lifestyle
